Public Speaking is a course that involves learning how to research, write, and perform a speech in front of an audience. Beginning with an overview of the art of speechmaking, this class will examine what it takes to be a convincing orator. Students will begin with some informal projects, and then progressively move into more challenging activities like impromptu and persuasive speech competitions. The class will culminate with a five to six minute prepared speech on a topic of the student’s choice delivered to a large audience.
