People have adorned themselves with jewelry throughout history,using basic materials available to them to craft ornaments. The heritage of jewelry is visible in all cultures and in every age. The objective of this class is to have the opportunity to obtain an understanding of design, technical information, and skills necessary in the production of hand-wrought jewelry, while exploring the history of jewelry making. Emphasis will be placed on independent direction and the use of the media for personal artistic expression.
