This introductory course in physics assumes a background in Algebra and Geometry. Trigonometry is presented and used throughout the course. Topics include basic concepts of motion, force, energy, and momentum. Students will learn to understand and predict the behavior of everything through the use of mathematical models, labs, demos, and classroom discussions. We will be following the modeling method of teaching physics. In this method you will be learning physics concepts through a cycle of self-directed inquiry and discussion. The more active that you are in the process, the stronger your ties to understanding the model will be.
