The purpose of this course is to introduce you to and have you become familiar with the basic principles of economics and the manner by which economics affects and is affected by governmental and global decision-making. We will examine elements of both microeconomic and macroeconomic theory. Whenever possible, we will use real life examples as a means of understanding the principles of our studies. In addition, there are practical elements built into this course-becoming aware of budgeting, making wise choices about credit and debt, and financial planning (saving, investing, job choices, and much, much more). It is crucial that you develop sound financial literacy.
Your daily world is surrounded by economic choices and the effects of those choices by you and others. The success of individual businesses, the national economy, the U.S. government, and international relations are rooted in both individual choice and national policy, all of which we’ll try to touch on
